The building housing the centre was acquired in 1973 from Asland Cement for the symbolic price of one peseta after operating for 20 years. It is located in the old loading dock of the quarry and displays the history of natural conglomerates to the invention of artificial cement, showing the impact the quarry had on the town and what led to its closure.
