The route alternates between dirt tracks and minor roads, passing beautiful natural landscapes. As you progress, the terrain steadily gains altitude, with stretches of steep slopes and technical sections, especially on long climbs or uneven surfaces. The route passes through oak and chestnut forests, with panoramic views of the valley and the nearby mountain ranges.
The arrival at Candelario, one of the most charming villages in the province of Salamanca, is a spectacular end to the ride. Its cobblestone streets, traditional architecture and natural surroundings make it an ideal place to end an intense day on the bike.

Candelario - Puerto de Béjar

This mountain bike stage starts in the charming village of Candelario and heads towards Puerto de Béjar, a distance of approximately 22 kilometres with an elevation gain of 497 metres. Although it follows the same general route as the opposite direction, the second half of the stage requires greater effort, making it a demanding yet not overly difficult stage.

The terrain combines dirt tracks and minor roads that wind through chestnut and oak forests, with moderate climbs at the beginning and more technical sections as you progress. Excellent views of the valley and the mountain range can be enjoyed for much of the stage… a nice reward for your efforts on the bike. Some sectors may have loose stones or mud during the rainy season, so caution and good riding technique are recommended.

The final stretch to Puerto de Béjar has several steeper gradients that are ideal for those who enjoy a challenge. At the top, you can enjoy a tranquil panorama; take a moment to look back at the route you’ve ridden. It is a stage for high mountain biking that combines natural beauty and a sporting challenge.
