This road bike stage links Almendralejo with Mérida over around 29 kilometres with an elevation gain of 80 metres. It is a low-difficulty route with a gentle profile that allows riders to maintain a steady pace for most of the stage.

The route runs along well-maintained minor roads that cross the undulating landscapes of the southern Extremadura countryside. Along the way, cereal fields, olive groves and grasslands predominate, offering tranquil surroundings and good views that are ideal for easy riding.

The arrival in Mérida, the regional capital and jewel of Roman heritage, is a spectacular end to the stage. Visitors enter a city with an extraordinary historic heritage – it was declared  a World Heritage Site by UNESCO – where you can rest and enjoy the local culture, cuisine and monumental architecture.

Mérida - Almendralejo

This road bike stage connects Mérida with Almendralejo over around 29 kilometres with an elevation gain of 141 metres. It is of low difficulty, with a gradually ascending profile that requires constant effort for quite a large part of the route.

The route runs along minor roads in good condition, crossing an open landscape featuring grasslands, crop fields and gentle hills. You gain altitude gradually, without steep gradients but some sections are a moderate challenge.

The arrival in Almendralejo is a good opportunity to take a break and enjoy a town with a great winemaking tradition and literary culture.
