El Real de la Jara - Montemolín
This demanding mountain bike stage runs from El Real de la Jara to Montemolín over approximately 32 kilometres with an elevation gain of 708 metres. It is a moderate-to-high difficulty stage, designed for experienced riders who are physically fit, combining long climbs with technical stretches in natural mountain settings.
At the beginning of the route, after leaving El Real de la Jara take special care during the dangerous and technical descent. Also, be cautious when leaving Monesterio, as once you cross the road, you enter an irregular section with quite a steep slope.
The route crosses beautiful landscapes of northern Andalusia and southern Extremadura. It runs mostly along tracks, many of which are in good condition. However, it also includes connections along minor roads, which add fluidity to the ride and make navigation easier. The profile is clearly uphill with demanding short slopes and some uneven terrain, especially in the transitions between grasslands and mountain areas.
At the end of the stage is Montemolín, a historic town situated atop a hill that offers magnificent views of the surrounding area and a peaceful atmosphere. Its castle and fortified church give it a special character, and it is also an excellent place to rest after an intense and scenic day on the bike.
Montemolín - El Real de la Jara
This mountain bike stage runs from Montemolín to El Real de la Jara over about 32 kilometres with an elevation gain of 580 metres. Rated as moderate-to-high difficulty, this stage features a challenging route profile with a variety of terrain and technical sections, making it ideal for mid-mountain riders.
The route runs through typical landscapes of southern Extremadura and northern Andalusia, alternating natural roads with some minor road links. There are sustained uphill sections and transitions between grasslands and mountain areas, requiring good physical fitness and careful navigation. The stage also passes through the municipality of Monesterio.
The stage concludes at El Real de la Jara, a small and welcoming Andalusian village nestled among mountains and natural scenery.
