This demanding stage of the Ruta Vía de la Plata starts in Castilblanco de los Arroyos and heads towards Almadén de la Plata, covering about 28 kilometres with a total elevation gain of 606 metres. Designed for gravel bikes, it is considered a difficult stage due to constant uphill gradients, a jagged profile and varied terrain.

The first few kilometres pass through gradually ascending forest tracks and paths, gaining altitude as you reach an increasingly mountainous environment. Along the way, wide-track sections alternate with more technical or uneven sections, typical of the mountainous terrain.

The arrival at Almadén de la Plata, one of the highest municipalities in the province, is a demanding one, including a series of steep slopes. This stage stands out for both its natural beauty and the physical challenge it represents. Sufficient water is recommended, as refreshment points are scarce.
