This demanding stage of the Ruta Vía de la Plata starts in Castilblanco de los Arroyos and heads towards Almadén de la Plata, covering about 28 kilometres with a total elevation gain of 606 metres. Designed for gravel bikes, it is considered a difficult stage due to constant uphill gradients, a jagged profile and varied terrain.

The route passes through the Sierra Norte Natural Park, an area of great ecological and landscape value. The first few kilometres pass through gradually ascending forest tracks and paths, gaining altitude as you reach an increasingly mountainous environment. Along the way, wide-track sections alternate with more technical or uneven sections, typical of the mountainous terrain.

The arrival at Almadén de la Plata, one of the highest municipalities in the province, is a demanding one, including a series of steep slopes. This stage stands out for both its natural beauty and the physical challenge it represents. Sufficient water is recommended, as refreshment points are scarce.

The route runs along rural roads and dirt tracks in good condition, ideal for this type of bike. The route enters the natural landscapes of the Sierra Norte de Sevilla, with areas of grassland, scrubland and small changes in altitude along the way. The tranquil surroundings and the low presence of motor vehicles make this stage an enjoyable landscape experience.

Although the surface is mostly good, it is advisable to bring enough water and some snacks, as there are few refreshment points between the two towns. You arrive at Castilblanco de los Arroyos after several short climbs, so make sure you pace yourself well.
