This road bike stage runs from Baños de Montemayor to Puerto de Béjar over approximately 6.5 kilometres with an elevation gain of 163 metres. It is an easy stage although there is a steady uphill gradient, making it ideal as a short stage or the start of a longer day along the Ruta Vía de la Plata.

The route follows the old N-630 road with light traffic and a good surface that gradually winds uphill through surroundings of great beauty. Along the way you can enjoy views of the chestnut and oak woods of the Ambroz Valley, and the landscape opens up as you gain altitude up to the mountain pass.

Puerto de Béjar, at over 1,100 metres above sea level, marks the crossing from  Extremadura to Castilla y León, where there is a spectacular view of the nearby mountain ranges. It is also an emblematic place on the Ruta Vía de la Plata, ideal for a short break before continuing your ride towards Salamanca province.

This road bike stage runs from Puerto de Béjar to Baños de Montemayor over approximately 6.5 kilometres with a gentle elevation gain of 15 metres, making it a very easy stage that is ideal as a transition day or to enjoy the natural surroundings.

The route descends along the old N-630 road, with light traffic and a good surface, so you can ride safely and comfortably. As you lose height, the landscape features leafy forests of chestnuts and oaks before you enter the Ambroz Valley, one of the most attractive green areas in the region.

Baños de Montemayor, at the end of the stage, is a Roman spa village that is well-known for its thermal waters and historic heritage. Its old part conserves cobbled streets, traditional architecture and a good range of services, making it an ideal place to rest and enjoy some cultural tourism along the Ruta Vía de la Plata.
