Aljucén - Aldea del Cano
This demanding 33.5-kilometre stage runs from Aljucén to Aldea del Cano through typical grasslands of the Ruta Vía de la Plata in Extremadura. The route is characterized by a total elevation gain of 259 metres, distributed over several extended spares and gradients that require good physical fitness and a well-prepared gravel bike.
The route mostly runs along well-maintained dirt tracks, although in some sections there may be loose gravel or areas with stones, which increases the level of technical difficulty. The scenery is very attractive, with open views and little traffic or buildings, allowing for an immersive cycling experience in nature.
There are not many towns or villages along the way, so we recommend taking enough water and basic spare parts. Approaching Cano Village, the route profile is slightly gentler, allowing for a more wearable arrival after a physically demanding but very rewarding stage for those looking for gravel routes that are quite challenging.
