El Real de la Jara - Montemolín
This stage of the Ruta Vía de la Plata starts in El Real de la Jara and ends in Montemolín, covering approximately 32 kilometres with an elevation gain of 708 metres. It is designed for gravel bikes and is rated as difficult due to the physical demands it makes and the type of terrain it crosses.
The route runs along the Sierra Morena, alternating stretches of dirt tracks, forest trails and short link-ups along minor roads. The stage includes various long climbs, some with demanding ramps, so a good level of fitness is required.
The landscape is spectacular as you pass through holm oak groves, grasslands and scrubland areas, with views of the mountain range and the valleys that make up this part of northern Andalusia and southern Extremadura.
The destination, Montemolin, is a picturesque medieval village crowned by the remains of its castle, which dominates the landscape. It is an ideal place to recharge your batteries, enjoy the local cuisine and learn about the history of the municipality before continuing your journey northwards along the historic Ruta Vía de la Plata.

Running from Montemolin to Real de la Jara, this stage of the Ruta Vía de la Plata covers a distance of approximately 32 kilometres with an elevation gain of 580 metres. It is a demanding stage, rated as difficult and especially suited to gravel bikes due to the variety of surfaces that are crossed.
The route winds along rural roads, forest tracks, and stretches of earth through the Sierra Morena, a beautiful natural environment. Constant climbs and some technical descents are found along the way, adding a physical and technical element that justifies its level of difficulty. Panoramic views and peaceful grasslands make this stage a memorable experience for cyclotourists.
The stage ends at El Real de la Jara, where you can enjoy the town’s rich cultural heritage and spectacular surroundings.
