Palacio de la Encomienda
Arquitectura Civil
The present-day town hall, this is one of the few remaining buildings reflecting the typical style of the Order of Santiago and one of the best conserved examples in Spain.
It was built at the beginning of 16th century in masonry and brick, with two towers that flanked the façade underscoring its military appearance, only one of which still stands.
The main doorway opens onto an arcaded courtyard surrounded by running balconies and two floors, with beautiful ironwork and Portuguese-style tiles.
