Villafranca de los Barros - Almendralejo
This stage runs from Villafranca de los Barros to Almendralejo over around 16 kilometres with a very low elevation gain of 29 metres. It is a low-difficulty stage, ideal for a quiet ride to recover your strength, or as a link to longer and more demanding stages.
The route runs along minor roads with good surfaces, crossing Tierra de Barros, one of the best-known agricultural areas in Extremadura. Along the way, vineyards, olive groves and crop fields prevail, providing an open and relaxed landscape to ride at ease.
Almendralejo, your destination, is a town with all the services you need to enjoy a good stopover. The town is also known for Romanticism and for its cava (a sparkling white wine).
Almendralejo - Villafranca de los Barros
This stage runs from Almendralejo to Villafranca de los Barros over approximately 16 kilometres with an elevation gain of 62 metres. It is of low difficulty, although with a slightly ascending profile that means you have to maintain a steady pace, especially in some sections in the middle of the stage.
The route runs along tarmacked minor roads, crossing the heart of Tierra de Barros with landscapes featuring large vineyards, olive groves and crop fields. The route is straight, without any great technical difficulties, and is ideal to enjoy smooth pedalling.
On arrival at Villafranca de los Barros cyclists will find a pleasant and quiet town where agricultural traditions and the culture of winemaking combine to provide a good range of services. It is an ideal place to rest or link up to new stages along the route.
